Project Description

In the clayish and calcareous soils characteristic of the Cantiano area, a small tree of the species Prunus cerasus grows spontaneously, more commonly known as sour cherry or black cherry tree. Its fruits are locally used for the “homemade” production of jams, canned fruit, wines and liqueurs.

The famous Amarena di Cantiano, composed of sour cherries preserved in sugary syrup, since its first production in the early 1900s was so successful that it became known throughout Italy; currently, it is officially listed in the Gazzetta Ufficiale (=Official Gazette) as traditional agri-food product of the Marche Region.

To reproduce this symbol of refined gastronomy, the Municipality of Cantiano entrusted Rockolors with the design and turnkey decoration of the traffic island located in Pontedazzo.

The decorative pattern, designed and realized by the Rockolors Team with the artistic collaboration of Mrs. Monica Alessandri, was carried out with Resin Rock system and set using the mosaic technique on a prepared concrete base.
The result? An explosion of color and movement, for a Work of Art rich in details that embellishes the urban layout, integrating with the surrounding environment and doing justice to the uniqueness of the local Product.
