Project Description

The term rissêu (pebble in Genoese) refers to that particular mosaic of pebbles developed in the region starting from 1400 and typical of small buildings, villas and noble palaces, inspired by the natural landscape present in the Ligurian beaches. The particular technique has been refined over the centuries by the Ligurian experience and today is unparalleled in terms of complexity, graphic richness and variety of use.

With this work, Traversone Company has succeeded in combining the versatility of the ancient technique with the innovation brought by the colored Rockolors stones, to represent the emblem of the historic family at the town’s Piazza Aldo Moro.

The laying of the rissêu is preceded by the creation of a pre-made drawing on the floor to be decorated, on which the work will be based. The base is made up of a fluid grout on which our uniformly sized colored pebbles have been laid, leveled on one side with a bribe to better adapt them to the base and then fixed.
